Travel Credit Card Recommendation Quiz

Six questions, one matched card. We score 12 travel and cashback cards against your travel style, your spending, and how you feel about annual fees — then show you the three runners-up too.

This is a card-matching quiz, not a balance calculator. You answer six multiple-choice questions — how you travel, how often, what you spend the most on, roughly where your credit score sits, whether an annual fee is acceptable, and the one benefit you would not give up — and the quiz returns a single best-fit card plus three alternatives. Each result links straight to the full WanderWise review for that card, so you can check the earning rates and the fine print before you apply. Nothing is stored and no account is required.

The match is a transparent scoring pass rather than a black box. Every card in the shortlist is tagged (for example no-fee, lounges, groceries, cruises, starter), and each of your answers adds or subtracts points against those tags. Saying you would rather not pay an annual fee, for instance, rewards the no-fee cards and penalises everything else; saying airport lounges matter most pushes the premium cards up. The card with the highest total wins, and the next three are shown as runners-up so you can see what the quiz was weighing.

The dollar figures attached to those cards are not marketing numbers. A welcome bonus is only worth what the points redeem for, so WanderWise keeps its own conservative cents-per-point estimate for every airline and hotel transfer partner — set independently of the big card sites — and multiplies it by the transfer ratio to get the value of one point you actually hold. A 1:2 transfer into a weak currency is not double the value, and this method says so. The full workings, partner by partner, are published in the Points Value Index, last verified 2026-07-30.

What a point is typically worth

Before you pick a card it helps to know what its currency does. These are the five transferable bank programs the cards below earn, with the typical value of one point after transfer — the median partner for each program, not the best one.

Frequently asked questions

Is the WanderWise card recommendation quiz free?
Yes. The quiz is free, takes about 60 seconds, and needs no account — you answer six multiple-choice questions and see your matched cards immediately. You are never asked for a card number, a Social Security number, or a login. Your answers are used to score the cards on this page and nothing else.
How does the quiz decide which credit card to recommend?
Each of the 12 cards below carries tags — luxury, no-fee, groceries, lounges, cruises, hotel, starter and so on. Your six answers (travel style, how often you travel, your biggest spending category, credit-score band, annual-fee tolerance, and the single benefit you care most about) add or subtract points against those tags. The highest total becomes your top match and the next three are shown as runners-up, each linking to the full WanderWise review.
How are the points values on this page calculated?
Every value comes from the WanderWise Points Value Index, which sets a conservative cents-per-point range for each transfer partner and multiplies it by that partner’s transfer ratio to get the value of one point you actually hold. The "typical value" column shows the median partner for each program, not the best one — award pricing is dynamic, so verify any specific redemption at the time of booking.
