What I write about
Credit card rewards and award travel for people 55 and over: which cards actually earn what, what points are worth when you transfer them instead of cashing them out, and how to turn a balance you forgot about into a trip you have been putting off.
There is no shortage of points writing on the internet. I have read most of it. Much of it is written for people who enjoy the hobby for its own sake — the acronyms, the leaderboards, the chase. This site is written for people who want the trip, not the hobby. Plain English, one clear recommendation, and the fee math shown rather than glossed over.
I am allergic to hype. If a card is mediocre, it says so here. If a “deal” only works for someone spending $8,000 a month, that caveat goes in the first paragraph, not the footnotes.
How we verify
Every published claim about a card or program has to survive this before it goes live:
The full standard — including how corrections are handled — is in our editorial policy.
How this site makes money
Two ways, both disclosed: affiliate commissions when a reader is approved for a card through one of our links, and a $29 one-time personalized rewards report. Commissions never decide what gets recommended, and several cards we recommend pay us nothing at all. Full details are in the affiliate disclosure.
Trust matters more to me than a referral fee. That is not a slogan — it is the only reason this site is worth reading rather than skimming.
Corrections
If something here is wrong — a fee that changed, a transfer partner that was dropped, a number that does not add up — tell me and I will fix it and date the fix: hello@wanderwiseguide.com.
