Buy Marriott Bonvoy points with up to a 55% bonus
Purchases of 2,000 points or more get up to a 55% bonus, which works out to about 0.81¢ per point (1.25¢ before the bonus). The bonus is set per account, so yours may be lower — MileLion lists 20% to 55% offers. The annual purchase limit is raised to 200,000 points (before bonus) during the sale.
35% bonus on Amex Membership Rewards → Marriott transfers
Transfer Membership Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy and get 35% extra: 1,000 Amex points become 1,350 Marriott points instead of 1,000. AwardWallet says eligibility may be limited, so check the bonus shows on the Amex transfer screen before you move points — transfers can’t be reversed.

Cheapest right now: buy points (55% sale bonus). Buying only makes sense if the award saves you more than the $125 you'd pay — otherwise pay cash for the room.
How this works: transfers from Amex and Chase are 1:1 (plus any current bonus), in 1,000-point steps, and are counted at what those points are worth elsewhere — our conservative 1.3¢ a point. Purchases cost 1.25¢ a point before any sale bonus and assume 1,000-point steps. Marriott points are valued at 0.8¢. Transfers and purchases can't be undone. See the current Marriott deals for sources and dates.
Standing transfer ratios
With no bonus running, both bank programs transfer to Marriott Bonvoy at 1:1 in 1,000-point steps:
American Express Membership Rewards → Marriott: 1:1. Timing: Amex says up to 2 days; AwardWallet measured an average of about 51 minutes (AwardWallet).
Chase Ultimate Rewards → Marriott: 1:1. Timing: usually instant, occasionally up to 7 business days (The Points Guy).
We value flexible bank points at about 1.3¢ each and Marriott points at about 0.8¢, so a plain 1:1 transfer gives up value. A transfer to Marriott makes sense for a specific booking you can't cover otherwise — ideally while a bonus is running.

Frequently asked questions
Is it worth buying Marriott points with a 55% bonus?
Only to close a specific gap. At the full 55% bonus, points cost about 0.81 cents each (1.25 cents before the bonus) through November 23, 2026. We value Marriott points at about 0.7 to 0.9 cents on hotel stays, so buying them speculatively roughly breaks even at best. It makes sense when a small purchase completes an award or a free night certificate top-off that saves you more than the purchase costs. The bonus is set per account, so check yours before buying.
Is there an Amex to Marriott transfer bonus right now?
Yes. American Express is adding 35% to Membership Rewards transfers to Marriott Bonvoy from October 20 through December 10, 2026, so 1,000 Amex points become 1,350 Marriott points. The normal ratio is 1:1. We value Amex points at about 1.3 cents and Marriott points at about 0.8 cents, so even with the bonus, use it only for a specific Marriott booking.
How many points can I add to a Marriott free night certificate?
Up to 25,000 points per certificate since March 12, 2026 (up from 15,000), so a 35,000-point certificate can book a night priced up to 60,000 points.
Do Chase and Amex points transfer to Marriott 1:1?
Yes. Both Chase Ultimate Rewards and American Express Membership Rewards transfer to Marriott Bonvoy at 1:1, in 1,000-point increments, before any temporary bonus. Transfers can't be reversed.
