How Much Are 30,000 Marriott Points Worth?
Updated · By the WanderWise editorial team
30,000 Marriott Bonvoy points are worth about $210–$270 on hotel stays in 2026, at 0.7–0.9¢ per point. One full-service night at the low end, or two budget nights.
What 30,000 points realistically does
30,000 points is the bottom of the 30,000–50,000 range we measure at full-service hotels like Westin and Sheraton, so one such night is possible on a lower-priced date. Alternatively, it covers two select-service nights at 15,000 points each, or one at the top of that range with 5,000 left. It also covers the full 25,000-point top-off on a certificate with points to spare.
Nights 30,000 points can cover
Marriott has priced award nights dynamically since its award chart ended on March 29, 2022, so there is no fixed price per hotel. These are the points-per-night ranges we measure by property type; the night counts include Marriott's Stay for 5, Pay for 4 benefit and assume a similar price each night.
| Property type | Points / night | Nights with 30,000 |
|---|---|---|
| Select service Courtyard, Fairfield Inn | 15,000–25,000 | 1–2 nights |
| Full service Westin, Sheraton | 30,000–50,000 | 1 night on lower-priced dates only |
| Luxury The Ritz-Carlton, St. Regis | 60,000–100,000 | Not enough for a night |
The Points Guy has reported nights of up to 150,000 points at Marriott's most aspirational luxury hotels — above the luxury range shown here. Before you book, divide the cash rate by the points price: above about 0.9¢ per point is a good redemption, below about 0.7¢ means paying cash is usually better.
Using 30,000 points with a free night certificate
Since March 12, 2026, Marriott lets you add up to 25,000 points to a free night certificate (up from 15,000). Your 30,000 points cover a full 25,000-point top-off with 5,000 to spare:
- 35K certificate → a night priced up to 60,000 points
- 50K certificate → a night priced up to 75,000 points
- 85K certificate → a night priced up to 110,000 points
Transferring 30,000 points to airline miles
30,000 points transfer to about 10,000 airline miles at Marriott's 3:1 ratio. The 5,000-mile transfer bonus only starts at 60,000 points, so a transfer at this size gets the plain ratio. That only beats a hotel redemption when you have already found a specific award flight.
Our recommendation for 30,000 points
Choose between one full-service night and two select-service nights by checking cents per point on each — the higher-priced hotel often returns more per point. If you hold a certificate, spend 25,000 of these points topping it off.

How many free nights can I get with 30,000 Marriott points?
Using the points-per-night ranges we measure — about 15,000–25,000 at select-service hotels, 30,000–50,000 at full-service hotels and 60,000–100,000 at luxury hotels — 30,000 points covers about 1–2 nights at select-service hotels, or 1 night on lower-priced dates only at full-service hotels, counting Marriott's benefit that makes the cheapest night of a five-night points stay free. Marriott has had no award chart since 2022, so check the points price for your dates.
Is 30,000 Marriott points enough for a nice hotel?
Sometimes. Full-service hotels such as Westin and Sheraton run roughly 30,000 to 50,000 points a night in our measurements, so 30,000 points covers one on a lower-priced date. Luxury brands such as The Ritz-Carlton and St. Regis usually start around 60,000. 30,000 points are worth about $210 to $270 on hotel stays.

30,000 points transfer to about 10,000 airline miles at Marriott's 3:1 ratio. The 5,000-mile transfer bonus only starts at 60,000 points, so a transfer at this size gets the plain ratio. That is usually worth it only when you have already found a specific award flight that needs the miles.
